Betsy DeVos: Education - Two GOP members broke rank and would not vote for her. Never before has the vice president had to break a 50-50 tie for confirmation of a cabinet member. She has suggested that the Department of Education should be removed from the federal government. She wants to dilute funding to the public schools by offering "school choice" which is a code name for vouchers to allow rich people to send their children to private school paid by your tax money. Charter schools allow lack of oversight and a way to sneak religion into publicly funded schools. It also allows schools that work for profit to benefit from public funding without any regulations to control them. She will attempt to destroy public education.

Tom Price: Health - Top of the agenda is destroying the affordable care act. In the House of Representatives, he has been trying to take it down since it was first created in 2010. He also believes that we should get rid of medicaid, medicare and remove the protections and regulations on the health care industry that are protecting patients and customers from price fixing and other schemes that allow the industry to abuse the public. He's voted to limit malpractice damages and voted against regulating drug prices to keep prescriptions affordable. He also opposes the legality of abortions and women's choice and is likely to propose legislation and policy that make it more difficult. It is scary to think what he will do as the head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. He has voted to keep the confederate flag and against same-sex marriage. There is evidence that he has used his position to propose legislation that helped his stock portfolio, so it's also apparent that he has no ethics.
Scott Pruitt: EPA - Right now the EPA is in the way of Mr. Pruitt's financial interests. If he can declaw the agency where it can't enforce any rules, and doesn't cost any money (or doesn't have any funding), he will have done his job. As attorney general, there is evidence that he was in collusion with oil companies to keep the state from enforcing regulations that would affect the bottom line and there are record donations from energy companies to attorneys general all over the country to promote this effort including $16 million just this year. A Freedom of Information Act request has ordered thousands of emails be made available to look for evidence that he should not be confirmed to the head of the EPA, but Republicans forced a vote and confirmed him before the emails were released. Under his control, the EPA may actually do more to destroy the environment than it would if there were no agency. Wait and see.
To be continued...
